Collect information
about hardware/software environment and business goals, assess current
database backup strategy and make recommendations, establish overall
performance goals, and perform basic database security analysis.
Expanded
Database Administration Monitoring Functions From 7am to 7pm
Seven Days a Week From SmartDog Services Central Monitoring Location (Extra
charges apply for work outside of these hours):

Monitor database
performance.

Monitor tablespace and
other object space.

Monitor Oracle log
files, trace files, and statistics.
Weekly
Report to Provide Information Concerning Instance, i/o and
Rollback Tuning Performance.
Basic
Database Access Management: Configure Listeners and TNS Names.
Basic
Database Version Patch Update. Troubleshoot Database Service
Interruption Problems.
Additional
Services as Required (When deemed necessary or upon client
request):

Recommend database
backup/recovery strategy.

Set-up and monitor
Archivelogs.

Problem resolution in
conjunction with Oracle Support on TARs (technical assistance
requests).

requirements on existing objects.

Online redo log
management and multiplexing.

Control file management
and multiplexing.

Database recovery
Create/Clone
Databases, Setup Database-Related OS Environment, and
Lay-Out Physical (Devices, File Systems, Directories, Files, etc.) and
Logical Structure (Tablespaces, Segments, Extents, etc.).
Analysis
of Tables and Indexes
Additional
Advanced Services as Required (When deemed necessary or upon
client request):

Create data dictionary
views and standard packages for new database.
-
Create and modify
parameter file(s).
-
Database startup and
shutdown automation.
-
Set-up database user
management framework, including assigning tablespace quotas for a type
of user, set-up custom roles, and set-up non-default profiles
(including roles, profiles, synonyms, sequences, triggers, and views).

Manage system resources
usage via profile enforcement (restrict CPU time, idle time, etc.);
Oracle version 8 and above.

Database backup and
recovery strategy for high availability operations.

Install or upgrade
Oracle Database Server.

Monitor interaction
between Oracle and system and recommend system modifications.

Respond to technical
questions via telephone/email regarding the Oracle database.

Coordinate with Oracle
Support on TAR (technical assistance requests).

Alert and warn (via
email, page, etc.) in case of abnormal events.

Set-up simple audit
trails/auditing (object/user access).
